This website was written, designed, developed, and published by Patrick Mifsud. It serves as a personal portfolio and creative space — a home for projects, writing, and experiments that blend design and development.
The purpose of patrickmfsd.com is to provide a clear, fast, and thoughtfully built home for my work. Every page has been hand-crafted for readability and performance, with a focus on simplicity and accessibility. Some parts of the site are open source, and select components or code snippets are credited within posts or repository READMEs.
The site is built using Astro, a modern static site framework that enables fast, content-focused builds. Styling is handled with Tailwind CSS, providing utility-first flexibility and consistent design tokens throughout.
Pages are written using modern web standards such as HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, and TypeScript, with content authored in Markdown and MDX. The build process is powered by Vite, enabling lightning-fast development and optimized production output.
Deployment and hosting are managed through Netlify, which provides automated builds, edge caching, and continuous deployment directly from the project’s GitHub repository. This setup ensures smooth version control, instant previews, and reliable performance worldwide.
Together, these tools create a lightweight, maintainable, and accessible foundation that allows the site to evolve easily over time — both technically and visually.
The design is based on the Saral theme, which offered a minimalist and elegant base to build from. The site has since been extensively customized to match my personal design language and workflow.
I owe a huge thanks to the open-source community — to the frameworks, libraries, and countless developers who share their work and knowledge so freely. This project wouldn’t exist without that collective effort.
